Test Post
Today isn’t Friday so this isn’t a post. Sometimes the mechanics of making a blog work within a larger site can be a little daunting. I wonder if the designers have ever considered that most creative people are as much use with technical things as a chocolate tea pot? Working out the difference between the vast variety of acronyms alone can overwhelm.
SEO.
OK so it stands for “Search Engine Optimization”. …and yes, I fully understand the meaning of each of the three words.
Search = to look for with diligence.
Engine = (well locomotive and steam spring to mind but I know, I know) …a machine with moving parts that converts power into motion ((In this context I think not!))
Optimization = making the best of, or most of.
So SEO should be a device? (thingie) with moving parts that goes looking for stuff really well. I’m on the right track I thought. I found one and it looks like the sort of thing I have to fill out at the doctors office to describe an ailment.
Conclusion? Technical people need to stop hijacking perfectly normal words and using them to hide rather nasty medicine.
Actually All I’m doing is trying to “fix” a place for you, faithful readers, to leave comments but am not having too much success. This post is to see if I have to do it while creating a post rather than remembering I haven’t done it later. Clearly I’ve drunk this medicine in the past since comments have been left. And here’s the thing; my technical friends will be shouting at their computers if I don’t succeed and “commenting” on how it’s done if I do succeed! Here’s a tip, don’t! At that point I will have worked it out.
(After that I’ll go back and try “fixing” how to subscribe because I’ve broken that too.)
